COSIMA DE VITO
About
Vocal powerhouse Cosima De Vito is a fiery Italian songstress born and raised in Perth, Australia. She has been passionate about the world of music from a young age with her grandfather, a gifted Italian tenor, being a major musical influence evoking a strong connection within her from the beginning.
?
At only 9 years old she took her first leap into what would turn into a very successful career. Entering her first talent quest she performed the classic ballad “The Greatest Love of All”... and walked off stage with first prize, all without the knowledge of her parents!
?
In 2003 Cosima went on to share her passion with the world, appearing on the first season of Australian Idol where she wowed the crowds. Reaching the top 3 on the show she had captivated the audience and judges alike with countless classic hits, her beautiful rendition of “When The War Is Over” being particularly remarkable. This song then went on to become her first hit single, reaching platinum status and debuting at No. 1 on the ARIA charts making her the first ever independent artist to accomplish this upon release!
?
Following on from her big win at the ARIA awards Cosima pursued her love of music, going on to record and produce in Los Angeles with renowned Grammy and Golden Globe award winner Diane Warren. Cosima’s self-titled debut album was released soon after and hit at No. 2 on the ARIA chart.
The album was also certified gold on release.
?
Showing no signs of slowing Cosima headed back to the studio to record her next offering – ‘This Is Now’. Not only an inspirational vocalist, Cosima continued her writing successes by penning numerous tracks from the album.
?
In addition to her flourishing career as a singer-songwriter, Cosima starred in the musical “Hair” on its sold out Australian tour. The young artist also performed on countless TV shows and at prestigious events, including the Prime Minister’s Parliament Gala Dinner, the televised Dream Foundations Gala Dinner in Los Angeles and Channel 7’s iconic Carols by Candlelight.
?
She was also voted best new artist for Pop Republic magazine and in October last year Cosima launched her hit single “Right Here, Right Now” on Channel 10 with a live performance. As Christmas rolled around she celebrated the familial spirit by releasing a rendition of the classic “O Holy Night”. Consistently championing the classics as opposed to the newer upbeat Christmas songs, the release led to a busy festive period performing at Christmas events nationally.
Following a whirlwind of tours, live performances, festivals and dance parties Cosima toured the country performing shows with her band and has been invited to perform the national anthem on various occasions for major sporting events including; Melbourne Cup, State Of Origin, Fox Sports and the NBL All Stars game to name a few.
?
Celebrating over a decade in the music industry Cosima decided to get back in touch with her roots, producing the new single, “Beyond The Horizon” while also securing yet another nomination for female artist of the year. This single comes from her upcoming album “Power of Love” which is set for release later this year. The album has been inspired by highlights of her personal journey to find love which is a perfect fit following her whirlwind romans and wedding to Sydney local, Gus De Romanis.

With the promise of new music and an ever-growing fan-base Cosima shows no signs of slowing as her determination, passion and poise continue to forge her place as an icon in Aussie music.
