About
French vocalist, Sylvie Boisel grew up in marseille and moved to paris aged 18 where she began studying drama, dancing and singing at Compagnie Catherine Brieux, Ecole Jacqueline duc, studio Alice Dona and studio des variétés over the next 9 years.
After working as an actress, Sylvie’s passion for music and singing lead her to perform on stage in paris for the next 10 years as a comedian-singer in concerts, cabarets, festivals, piano bars and theatres all over France, as well as recording cd’s and performing on television and in radio studios including radio France and Europe 1 & Europe 2. during this period she won many awards and competitions and received critical acclaim from the French press.
Sylvie Boisel has performed at many prestigious events in Australia including the Brisbane French festival 2012, International Great Waiter Race 2012, the opening night of the 2007 Sydney film festival to promote La Vie En Rose (a film about the life of Edith Piaf, starring oscar winner Marion Cotillard) where she was accompanied by Monsieur Camembert Band. Other recent events and performances by Slyvie include the opening of La Vie En Rose at Sydney’s Dendy cinema, Sydney Multicultural Festival, alliance Francaise De Sydney, the Melba Festival, carols in the cauldron at Sydney Olympic Park, Royal Sydney Golf Club, the French Lion’s Club, French rugby lunch at Guillaume at Sydney Opera House, the Wallabies farewell lunch at the Sydney town hall in front of special guest, former prime minister of Australia, John Howard and the Bright festival and Moe jazz festival both in Victoria, the Manly jazz festival 2011 featured singer of Zenith jazz New Orleans band.
